Port & Starboard was established in 2015 by Jeff Werby and Lisa DeNoia, two friends and coworkers driven by a common entrepreneurial spirit, and a creative spin on problem solving. 

Behind The Name

We come by our nautical theme honestly. We are located blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. One of our founders, Jeff, was a Lieutenant in the Navy, commanding a riverine detachment. The rest of us are like anchors. Port & Starboard doesn’t just mean left and right in ship-speak — it’s also a type of schedule for keeping watch. We’re always scanning for any technological dangers or opportunities coming your way.

The Salesforce Fellowship Program is an initiative developed through a collaborative partnership between Salesforce and Hiring Our Heroes. Salesforce Fellowships allow veterans and military spouses to participate in paid 12-week fellowships, gaining targeted experience as a certified Salesforce professional. The hands-on experience offered through the program prepares fellows for a smooth transition into Salesforce careers. As a host company, our fellows undergo exclusive on-the-job training and networking, gaining practical experience as a Salesforce professional.

The Salesforce Pathfinder Program is a workforce development program co-founded by Salesforce and Deloitte in 2018. The program is centered around the vision that all individuals, regardless of background, demographics, or socioeconomic status, should have access to the skills and support necessary to access opportunities as part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The program is a commitment to train the next generation of Trailblazers with the technical and business skills necessary to pursue careers across the Salesforce ecosystem. Some of our very own crew members have graduated from the Pathfinder Program!

As a regional economic development organization, the Hampton Roads Alliance represents several communities throughout the region in attracting new businesses and retaining existing companies. Lisa is an innovative technology leader for high-growth enterprises across various industries. She specializes in business process optimization/automation, IT systems consolidation and IT cost savings analysis, as well as Salesforce platform implementation services, solution architecture, design, development and systems integration.

Alexandra is passionate about operations, making things run smoothly, and improving processes. She has a background in advanced manufacturing and process engineering, which provides the technical background to create unique, well-designed systems. She loves small businesses, national parks, and Fathom Coffee.

Brittany Browning

Project Manager

Brittany is a highly-organized problem-solver with a background in sales operations and project management. Her prior ventures in the technology and insurance verticals fuel her passion for identifying and improving processes that impact user experience and data quality. Brittany likens her creative approach to a quality cup of coffee: a hearty pour of methodical planning with a splash of inventiveness.

Matt is a detail-oriented and tech savvy emerging web designer. His background in graphic design and nearly 6 years in customer service, provides him with the creativity and tools needed to work with clients to design fresh, responsive websites. He finds himself constantly inspired by the latest trends in technology, which he uses to sail through design challenges.

Gabe is a Certified Salesforce Administrator and compulsive problem-solver that’s passionate about helping clients actualize their full potential through Salesforce. With a background in the nonprofit industry and software development, he loves digging into the how’s and why’s to improve processes, nurture clean data, and help clients better serve their customers and community. Salesforce is like oatmeal. It’s good for you, and if it’s not to your liking, it can always be better customized to what you need.

Sandy Bachik

Salesforce Consultant

Sandy is a 4 time certified Salesforce professional: Salesforce Administrator, Business Analyst, Platform App Builder, and Salesforce CPQ Specialist. As a military veteran with experience as a financial analyst, intel analyst, and recruiting, she brings a diverse set of skills to her Salesforce Consultant role. She was honored to be accepted into the Salesforce Pathfinder program and to receive a US Chamber of Commerce Foundation “Hiring Our Heroes” Fellowship. In addition to her Salesforce Certifications, she is a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Sandy excels in leveraging Salesforce to optimize business processes, drive strategic insights, and create custom applications and is passionate about innovation and continuous learning.
