We are excited to announce the Port & Starboard is officially a member of Pledge 1%. Pledge 1% is a global movement that encourages and empowers companies of all sizes and stages to donate 1% of their staff time, product, profit, and/or equity to ANY charity of their choosing. We firmly believe in the importance of giving back to the Virginia Beach community and supporting those who support us.
Pledge 1% asks businesses and companies to commit at least 1% of their staff time, product, profit, and/or equity to any charity of their choosing. We pledged 1% of our product (web design/hosting) to the ViBe Creative District. As a business, we feel so fortunate to be located in the ViBe, and we wanted their new website to be a valuable resource
for the local community. In 2019, we completely redesigned their website and took over their hosting. The newly launched website makes it easier than ever to get involved in the exciting work that the ViBe Creative District is doing. Individuals and business owners who wish to become members of the Friends of the ViBe Creative District can now apply online. The non-profit is now able to accept one-time and recurring monthly online donations, which help support the ViBe Creative District’s mission, “to promote, support, connect, and inspire the arts and creative industries to boost our local economy, grow jobs, and enhance our quality of life.”
The ViBe Creative District is an official nonprofit organization that aims to establish a creative industries district right in the heart of Virginia Beach. Their mission touches the lives of business, local artists, residents, visitors, and more. Since its inception the ViBe Creative District has become a local hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
We are proud to continue our Pledge of 1% throughout 2020 and beyond for maintaining, updating, and hosting the ViBe Creative District website as they continue to grow. Starting this year, we will also be creating an interactive landing page and online shop for their yearly ViBe Mural Festival.
